Angry boxing fans prevented an emergency medical service in Garching on Saturday night.
A large police force had to shield an injured boxer so that rescue workers could resuscitate the man.
Garching
– The 38-year-old was apparently hit badly in the head when there were several kickboxing fights in the community center on Saturday evening, including the middleweight world title.
The athlete from the Munich district fell to the ground and lost consciousness.
The emergency services were then called.

While the emergency doctor revived the man, around 50 angry spectators harassed the rescue team and disturbed their work.
The situation was highly emotional and turbulent, the police said.
The rescue service therefore requested the police to assist around 11:25 p.m.
More than 15 strips cordoned off the area around the treatment site.
The support task force was also on hand to calm the crowd.
The rescue service brought the injured to a clinic in Thalkirchen.
About 30 followers had already gathered there when they arrived.
The police also had to calm the situation in front of the clinic.
It wasn't until 3 a.m. that everyone had gone home.
The exact procedures during the boxing match are examined by Commissariat 13, which is responsible for industrial accidents, the police headquarters announced.
