Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's CDU leader Franz-Robert Liskow congratulated his party colleague Hendrik Wüst.
The CDU was the clear winner of the evening, Liskow announced on Sunday evening.
You have a government mandate.
Unlike in Schleswig-Holstein, where Prime Minister Daniel Günther was the driving force, Wüst only had a few months to shine in the State Chancellery.
Schwerin - The CDU leader explained the performance of the SPD in North Rhine-Westphalia that this was also due to the fact that the SPD was still sending unclear signals.
The SPD still does not speak a clear language when it comes to its relations with Russia.
"The SPD still hopes to save itself from the war through a dialogue with Russia that is neither value-driven nor goal-oriented." As in Schleswig-Holstein, the SPD received the receipt for this from the voters.

The Greens in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania congratulated the Greens' top candidate Mona Neubaur in North Rhine-Westphalia.
"Thanks to this strong support from the population, there is no way around the Greens in the forthcoming coalition negotiations in the next few days," said Weike Bandlow, State Chairwoman of the Greens, on Sunday evening.
