The ruler of the closed state Kim Jong Un described the outbreak of the plague in the country as a "great disaster" • In Pyongyang it was announced that 42 people died from the disease and close to 300,000 needed medical treatment

North Korea reported this morning (Sunday) that more than 300,000 new people have been infected with the coronavirus and 42 deaths from coronary heart disease since Pyogenyang officially announced the outbreak of the plague in the country last week.

The state's state news agency, KCNA, reported 296,180 new infections against the corona virus in the country, in which almost no one has been vaccinated against the virus in the past two years.

The agency reported that authorities in the capital Pyongyang are taking "resolute and swift action", but at this stage no request has been received for assistance from countries around the world in vaccinations or tests.

"All districts, cities and local authorities in the country have entered into a full and complete closure and the work, production and residential units will be hermetically sealed from each other. A rigorous and rapid inspection of all residents is taking place from last week," the news agency said.

In addition, his news agency claimed that "a large proportion" of coronary heart disease deaths were related to "people who acted carelessly and took drugs without the knowledge or understanding of the elusive Omaricon variant, its spread and proper treatment for coronary heart disease."

Yesterday, North Korean ruler Kim Jong Un referred to the country's eruption of the corona and said it was "one of the most difficult upheavals since the founding of our country."

This is a rare reference by the ruler to a medical crisis and indicates a difficult feeling prevailing in the country due to the dimensions of the outbreak.

While protesters believe the disease has been spreading in the country for some time and large sections of the population have been infected and recovered without being tested at all, North Korea has since Thursday reported 820,320 cases of corona salt among them close to 300,000 patients in need of medical care.
