Tension over credit:
During a cabinet meeting, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz accused Prime Minister Naftali Bennett of not giving credit to ministers.
"A lot of people have credit for the government's work, but in front of the cameras you only talked about 'me and me and I ...', I'm in the room and you treat me like I'm the welfare minister. You should have mentioned me."
Relations between Gantz and Bennett have been tense since the government was formed.
Ganz sees himself as having to head the government, and the political system says he is frustrated and often scatter hints that they are "not in anyone's pocket."
Throughout the government's tenure, there have been occasional speculations that Gantz may overthrow her, but a blue-and-white chairman knows that his electorate will have a hard time forgiving him for that.
In the environment of former Prime Minister Netanyahu, Ganz is seen as one of the only keys to a possible return to power.
The Likud's strategy in this context speaks of dissolving the Knesset, going to the polls and creating an exchange government with blue and white - this time Ganz will be the first to serve as prime minister.
