A special tour of books enjoyed by the 12-year-old girl, Sarah Al-Othman, during her visit to the Arab Cultural Center in Kafr Sousa, Damascus, to learn about the latest children’s publications in Russian within the exhibition held in cooperation with the Russian Cultural Center under the title Children’s Literature and Children’s Education Book.
The elegant typography, attention to detail and simplicity in teaching the language is what caught the attention of Sarah, who and her friends decided to make her summer vacation a fruitful one by learning the Russian language as the beginning of the exhibition's books.
The director of the Russian Cultural Center in Damascus, Nikolai Sokhov, said: “The aim of the exhibition is to reach the promising generation of children, and for that the Russian Cultural Center has set up an exhibition of educational and entertaining Russian books, indicating that the activity continues until the end of this week.”
He indicated that the activity is directed mainly to students who want to learn the Russian language to be in contact with the Russian language and culture, as well as those interested in the Russian language in general.
The exhibition includes a collection of precious books of distinguished printing, which contain a large number of pictures about Russia, its culture and its archaeological site.
Sokhov called on all those interested to visit the exhibition and promote it through the Ministries of Culture and Education so that the largest possible number of children can benefit from it, as it enriches them and presents them with beautiful things about entertainment centers in the Russian Federation.
In turn, a member of the Executive Office of the Arab Writers Union Jaber Salman stressed the importance of this exhibition, which is held in conjunction with the International Children's Book Day, indicating that what distinguishes it is that it displays books related to children's culture in the Russian language in an educational format.
He pointed out that the books are beautiful because they can form a tributary to the educational curricula in the Russian language and for those who learn this language, and can benefit from it to develop and strengthen the culture in the Russian language.
