In North Rhine-Westphalia, the fire brigade had to free a horse with hoses and a tractor.
The animal had sunk in the mud of a quarry pond.
It wasn't the first case.
Goch – Actually, a rider in Goch (Kleve district) in North Rhine-Westphalia only wanted to let his horse drink on the bank of a quarry lake on Sunday.
But suddenly "Max", as the horse was called, got caught in the soft sand.
The horse sank so deep in the sand that it couldn't free itself.
The fire brigade had to move in to save the gelding, as reported by 24RHEIN.

Goch: The horse sinks again in the sand at the notorious quarry pond
With several fire hoses that were wrapped around the horse's stomach and a tractor, the emergency services were able to free Max from his predicament.
The gelding was "carefully lifted and safely pulled to the shore," said the Goch fire brigade.
The incident happened on Sunday afternoon (May 15) at a former quarry pond on the Maasstraße in Goch.
Similar incidents have often happened there in the past - although warning signs on site point out exactly this danger from the sand.
As early as August 2020, a horse sank in the sand at the quarry pond because the owner let it drink on the shore.
Luckily, the horse was able to be rescued unharmed.
