The new Evangelical Christian Union Church was inaugurated this evening in the Arbawi neighborhood of Qamishli city, in the presence of the spiritual head of the churches in the Evangelical Christian Union in Syria and Lebanon, Edwar Awabda, and a number of Christian and Islamic clergymen.
In a statement to SANA reporter, Awabida indicated that the church is a new beacon to be added to the beacons of peace in facing darkness and will play its role in elevating and protecting society, stressing the effective role of churches in working to serve the country.
For his part, the chaplain of the Christian Union in Al-Malikiyah, Reverend Naim Yousef, explained during his speech that the church is a bridge to communicate with everyone and a platform for spreading the culture of love, acceptance and respect of the other, and it will be a light in this city, calling for everyone to be united in their love for each other.
