Kohfeldt under scrutiny: is there a threat of the end in Wolfsburg?

Despite the recent better results, the future of coach Florian Kohfeldt at Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg is apparently uncertain.

According to information from "Kicker" and "Bild", those responsible at VfL met on Sunday to analyze the messed-up season and asked the coach to talk.

According to the media, this could also lead to the separation from the 39-year-old.

Wolfsburg - Kohfeldt had recently stabilized the club after unstable results and led it to twelfth place in the table after the relegation battle.

Both managing director Jörg Schmadtke and sports director Marcel Schäfer have recently had Kohfeldt backed and talked publicly about wanting to compete with him next season.

Kohfeldt himself did not give the impression that his future in Wolfsburg was in danger after the 2-2 (1-2) win against champions FC Bayern Munich on Saturday.

"I'm particularly looking forward to the start of the new season, when we want to perform more regularly than we did in the second half," he said.

The ex-Bremer took over the club last fall as the successor to Mark van Bommel.
