Pedelec driver dies in a fall in the forest - he was traveling with a friend

A man died on a trip with his pedelec.

Two men were out and about with their pedelecs near Gößweinstein when one noticed that his friend was no longer behind him.

He found him lifeless.

Gößweinstein - Two cyclists rode their pedelecs through a forest between Gößweinstein and Leutzdorf on Saturday (May 14).

Apparently, one of the two fell badly.

That's what the police report.

Accordingly, his companion found him lying lifeless next to his bike.

Attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful.

According to the press release, the two men crossed the forest west of Gößweinstein (Forchheim district) at around 2:45 p.m.

After a while, the cyclist in front noticed that his friend was no longer behind him.

He then turned around and found the 57-year-old lying lifeless next to his bike several hundred meters deep in the forest.

He immediately called 911 and provided first aid, "unfortunately without success," according to the police.

An emergency doctor found the man from the Munich district dead on site.

Fall or medical reason?

Police are investigating the death of a pedelec driver

Police officers from Ebermannstadt and detectives from the Bamberg Kripo are currently dealing with the question of whether a fall or a previous medical reason was the cause of the cyclist's death.

He wore a helmet while driving.
