Piano Concerto: A concert for students of the Al-Ajjan Institute at Dar Al-Assad for Culture in Lattakia

The concert, which was presented by students from the piano department at the Mahmoud Al-Ajjan Institute of Music, at the Dar Al-Assad Theater for Culture in Latakia, accompanied by the Institute's Classical Orchestra, was the first experience of its kind to present the piano concerto in Lattakia.

This concert comes as part of the first experiments at the level of the conservatories of the Directorate of Conservatories and Ballet, where 8 students of different years and ages took turns to present individual pieces “Solo” on the piano of the famous German composer “Johann Sebastian Bach”, in addition to 3 students accompanied by students from the orchestra. The classical Bach 7 Piano Concerto, which showed individual abilities and the ability to perfectly harmonize in a professional teamwork.

Ali Alloush, the professor of piano at the institute, the supervisor of the ceremony and the conductor of the orchestra in it, Ali Alloush, noted in a statement to SANA reporter the importance of the ceremony, which presented classical anthologies and the piano concerto, which embodies the collective work of the piano, i.e. the classic form of teamwork, which requires high skills.

And Alloush indicated that Bach's compositions coming from the Baroque era were selected, in which the orchestra played a less important role than the piano and was easier, unlike the rest of the eras in which the orchestra became a role comparable to the piano, noting that it was the first time that such a concert was presented in Latakia and among the first works Also in institutes affiliated to the Director of Conservatory of Music.

Head of the Piano Department at the Institute, Aya Arsuzi, pointed out the importance of the ceremony, which allows students to go out to the theater, especially since most of them are experiencing their first experience in this field, in addition to the importance of presenting a collective work for the piano in partnership with the classical orchestra, and the techniques it offers and important experience for students.

The director of the institute, Shatha Mohamed, indicated that the concert presents for the first time a piano concerto, which is considered one of the most difficult and important templates and allows the player to master his abilities and work in harmony with the orchestra.

It is noteworthy that the Mahmoud Al-Ajjan Institute for Music was established in 2013 in Lattakia and is affiliated with the Directorate of Musical and Ballet Institutes.
