The Lebanese parliamentary elections have once again aroused inter-ethnic tensions in the divided country on Sunday, and a number of violent clashes have erupted between members of the Hezbollah terrorist group and the Shiite Amal movement and the Christian Lebanese forces.

According to Arab reports, the clashes took place in different parts of the country.
In the village of Jonah in southern Lebanon, Hezbollah and Amal operatives attacked a Lebanese force tent.
Shiites have even confronted Christian voters in eastern Cedar.
In one of the polling stations, Hezbollah-affiliated residents shouted at Zionists, "Zionists."
In recent months, tensions have intensified between the Christian Party and Hezbollah.
The terrorist organization accused the leader of the "Lebanese forces", Samir Jaja, of collaborating with Israel.
The latter, for his part, sharply criticized Hezbollah and declared, among other things, that his country was not interested in a "Lebanon of UAVs.

It was also reported that the Lebanese army was deployed at dawn in various areas to secure the election process, in which about 4 million eligible voters could take part.
From the opening of the polls at 7:00 until noon, low turnout was recorded in the parliamentary elections.
At 15:00, the Lebanese Interior Ministry noted that the overall turnout was 25.2%.
Later, at 17:00, the overall turnout was only 32.04%.
These are particularly low figures as the final turnout in the previous elections in 2018 was 49.68%.
These dismal voter turnout reflects despair over the country's difficult economic situation and distrust of the corrupt political system.
The elections in the land of cedars are also the first test of the opposition to the Hezbollah camp and of the young protest groups that emerged in the 2019 demonstrations demanding the overthrow of the corrupt government.
