The Road Transport Branch in Hama Governorate resumed the work of the third phase of the Homs-Masyaf highway, which is 19.5 km long within the administrative boundaries of Hama Governorate.
Engineer Khader Fatoum, director of the Road Transport Branch, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the third phase of the project includes the implementation of a highway with two round-trip lanes separated by a middle island, and the implementation of two traffic knots, the first of which is the Kartman knot and the second is the Scorpion knot, in addition to the implementation of various traffic crossings.
Fatoum pointed out that work is currently underway to finish the 5 km long part of the project located east of Masyaf city, from Al-Farah fuel station to Al-Harsh roundabout, and put it in service as soon as possible, because it directly intersects with the citizens’ interests in transit and neighborhood traffic.
He pointed out the importance of the highway, which will shorten the distance between Homs and Masyaf, as its path passes outside the population centers and is a vital road linking the central region with each other and from there to the coast to Homs and Damascus, noting that these works are carried out in cooperation with the Military Construction Corporation in Masyaf.
