A resident of Eilat was arrested after breaking into vehicles in Sdot • According to the suspicion - he tried to install listening devices in vehicles • During the interrogation he denied contact to a senior Strauss official

Police arrested a 50-year-old Eilat resident over the weekend on suspicion of breaking into a car in Moshav Sharon.

Investigators from the police station in the fields opened last week after being informed of a number of suspicious people walking around the house in one of the moshavim in the Sharon and trying to break into a vehicle on the spot.

The vehicle into which the suspects tried to break into is that of the CEO of the Strauss Group - Giora Bar-De'a.

The activity of the detectives of the police station in the locality, which lasted several days, led to the arrest of the suspect over the weekend, after he returned to the crime scene again and broke into two vehicles and allegedly tried to put a listening device in one of them.

He is currently being investigated for offenses of conspiracy to commit a crime, attempt to place a listening device, criminal trespass and burglary, which he allegedly committed.

His detention was extended over the weekend until Monday.

During the interrogation, he claimed that he thought it was a contractor's vehicle with which he was in conflict and not the Strauss CEO's vehicle.
