Three people were killed as a result of floods caused by heavy rains that fell on the state of Assam in northeastern India and inundated low-lying areas.
The Chinese news agency (Xinhua) quoted local officials as saying that the floods hit 94 villages in six provinces, killing three people, including a woman, affecting about 25,000 people, and swept away several roads, in addition to damaging bridges and irrigation canals, as well as destroying crops with an area of 1732.72 hectares.
It is noteworthy that floods occur annually in Assam during the monsoon season.
