Two new shootings, which occurred in Texas and California this Sunday, left at least three people dead and several more injured.

One of the attacks occurred at the Geneva Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods, California, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The church is located in the 24000 block of El Toro Road.

The shooting left one person dead and at least four more seriously injured, another with minor injuries, authorities said.

Police responded to an emergency call at 1:26 pm.

"All the victims are adults and are on their way to the hospital. One victim has died at the scene," authorities said.

Paramedics and firefighters also responded to the emergency call and were "transporting multiple patients," the Orange County Fire Authority tweeted.

Details of how the shooting started have not yet been released.

The other incident took place at a busy flea market north of Houston, located at 8729 Airline Drive, after an argument between five people who apparently knew each other ended in gunfire.

When authorities arrived shortly after 1 pm (local time) they found two people dead and three injured, who were taken to the hospital, said Harris County, Texas, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Police seized two pistols.

"It appears that all of the injured were likely participants in the altercation, no innocent bystanders were injured to our knowledge," Sheriff Gonzalez reported on Twitter.

Sunday's shootings come just hours after a white man killed 10 mostly black people at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, in what the FBI calls a possible "extremist-motivated hate crime." racial".

So far in 2022, there have been 200 mass shootings in the United States, according to the count kept by the Gun Violence Archive site.
