Wolfratshausen – On January 1, 2005, he took over the chairmanship of the municipal housing association (StäWo).
Lothar Ortolf is now retiring.
On the occasion of a ceremony in the not yet completely finished town hall café, Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner paid tribute to the services of the outgoing StäWo managing director.
"We got along well with each other, it was always a trusting relationship," summed up Heilinglechner.
He referred to the numerous renovation and new construction projects of the StäWo.
The housing stock grew from 182 to 357.
In total, the StäWo invested 28 million euros in social housing during Lothar Ortolf's tenure.
Rental income was around 700,000 euros ten years ago and has now risen to 2.6 million euros.
Lothar Ortolf was touched by Heilinglechner's words of praise, but also reported on controversial issues.
"Sometimes it escalated a bit," Ortolf recalled.
In his opinion, milestones in his track record were the transfer of many municipal properties to the housing association in 2007 and the development of the former Coop meadow in Waldram.
A total of 52 barrier-free apartments for middle- and low-income tenants were built there in 2018 and 2019.
In 2020, a service company was founded under the umbrella of StäWo.
Their main challenge is the general renovation of the municipal property at Untermarkt 10 and the conversion of the town hall café.
Robert Alischer is undoubtedly following in big footsteps.
"He's the right man," Ortolf praised his successor.
