The Caritas social project Rentabel in Freising has been in existence for 25 years.

Those responsible used the anniversary for a talk about the future of the facility.

Freising – For a quarter of a century, Rentabel has been a constant in Freising.

A lot has changed in the Caritas social project since then, and they have moved three times in the meantime.

But two factors have remained constant for 25 years: you stand for a social success story and you have to struggle with financing.

Noah did it: He worked in logistics for the Caritas project for a year and a half, regaining his daily structure and finding an anchor in life.

And now?

Now Noah has a permanent job at the AWO Seniorenpark in Moosburg, where he works in administration.

Noah's story, which he told on Saturday when the rentable had invited to Kepserstraße for his 25th birthday, also impressed the guests who had been invited to the round of talks "in a cozy living room atmosphere", as Caritas district manager Anja Bungartz-Pippig said formulated.

Mental problems of the clientele are “increasingly severe”

For District Administrator Helmut Petz, the rentable stands for a "wonderful combination of social and ecological purposes", for Freising's third mayor Birgit Mooser-Niefanger it is "a great humanistic idea that every life has dignity", for Freising's member of the Bundestag Erich Irlstorfer it is a "successful project" for humanity and people.

As Andrea Lachner, head of the Rentabel employment company, described, the psychological problems that the Rentabel project's clientele bring with them have become "more and more severe and more and more" for years, the participants are increasingly "weaker" and their German is getting worse and worse to speak.

This in turn means that you need professional staff.

But that, according to Lachner, is "expensive", which is why the Profitable is a loss-making operation.

Petz's question as to whether the already numerous volunteers could be involved a little more was actually answered.

Because you are an educational institution, you have to adhere to regulations and circumstances in order to get grants, you just need professionals.

Volunteers are overwhelmed in practice and in the care with many situations.

Mayor: Politicians have to learn that certain areas are "deficient per se".

That brought you to the money: Mooser-Niefanger said that in politics you have to learn that certain areas are "deficient per se" and that you have to spend more money on the social sector.

Irlstorfer firmly assumed that the traffic light coalition in Berlin would not cut the funds for such AGH measures as with Rentabel, but would rather “saddle up” in this sector.

The district administrator and district councilor Marianne Heigl emphasized the importance of profitability, which in any case justifies the financial contribution.

For Petz it was clear anyway: "Without Profitable we would be poorer."

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Noah, for whom the Caritas employment project paved the way back to a regular, meaningful life, can certainly agree with that.

Like many other clients over the past 25 years.

Profitable - a success story.
