More than 40 people have contracted mass food poisoning in Takhar province, northern Afghanistan.
"The poisoning occurred during a wedding ceremony held last night in the Takhanabad village of the province, which resulted in the poisoning of 42 people who were taken to hospital for treatment," Xinhua news agency quoted local police as saying today.
The source indicated that three people were arrested, while an investigation was opened to uncover the circumstances of the case.
