Thousands of Palestinians participated in reviving a national event in the besieged Gaza Strip on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the Nakba.
Wafa Agency stated that the participants in the event organized by the Department of Refugee Affairs in the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Supreme National Committee to commemorate the Nakba in Gaza City affirmed that the Palestinian people have proven to the whole world that they refuse to forget and give up the right of return confirmed by international legitimacy resolutions, especially Resolution 194.
The participants pointed out that history will never go backwards, and that the Israeli occupation, no matter how aggressive and tyrannical it is, is fading away, and that the return of Palestinian refugees to their homes is inevitable.
A member of the Fatah Central Committee, Ahmed Abu Houli, stressed that the right of return is a trust in the Palestinian leadership and there is no compromise on it, no matter the sacrifices, stressing that the brutality of the occupation and its crimes will not discourage the Palestinian people from continuing their struggle against the occupier until it is defeated from its land and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Abu Houli pointed out that the absence of accountability and the international will and the policy of double standards pursued by the United Nations and some countries in the world to hold the occupation authorities to account encourage them to continue their violations and crimes against the Palestinian people, their land, property and holy sites.
At the end of the event, a symbolic funeral was held for the martyr journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh, who was assassinated by the occupation forces in cold blood on the 11th of this month at the entrance to Jenin camp, despite the clear press marks on her while she is performing her journalistic duty to convey the truth to the world about the brutality of the occupation.
