Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian called on the G7 countries to stop slandering China and interfering in its internal affairs, including the Taiwan issue.
"China's position on issues relating to Hong Kong, Xinjiang, Taiwan and maritime affairs is clear and consistent, and it is against those who ignore China's position and objective facts and against gross interference in China's internal affairs and malicious slanders against it," RIA Novosti quoted Lijian as saying at a press conference today.
Lijian stressed that his country calls on the G7 countries to respect China's sovereignty and stop slandering it and interfering in China's internal affairs in any way.
