Paris, SANA- Chinese Ambassador to France Li Shai stressed that the eastern expansion of NATO affects a vital interest in the literal sense

Paris-Sana

Chinese Ambassador to France Li Shai stressed that the expansion of NATO to the east touches a vital interest in the literal sense of Russia, pointing out that the United States is behaving with the mentality of the Cold War and is considered a major trigger for wars and problems in the world.

Commenting on the security risks of NATO expansion today, Shai was quoted by Russia Today website: Every geopolitical conflict has a complex historical context, and the search for the security of a country at the expense of the insecurity of others inevitably leads to conflict.

The Chinese ambassador pointed out that the root cause of the conflict is that the United States, imbued with a Cold War mentality, pushed NATO to five successive eastward expansions and encouraged Ukraine to join the alliance despite the opposition of France, Germany and other European countries, which greatly reduces Russia's security field.

Shay pointed out his agreement with the opinion that the United States wants to create a unipolar world and is trying to inflame the situation in Ukraine in order to prolong the war as long as possible to weaken Russia, recalling that the United States, after the outbreak of the crisis, hastened to pour oil on the fire and is more involved in sending weapons to Ukraine, which led to an escalation of tension.

Shay stressed that the biggest winner of this war is the last one who wants to end it, ie the United States of America.

On the sixth of this month, China renewed its demand for NATO to stop undermining world peace and to abandon the mentality of the Cold War.
