Appearing uniformly, being publicly perceived as an industry, asserting economic interests over politicians and helping each other with problems: This is what cultural workers and creative people in the district want and have therefore founded a regional business association.

It's called "Pulsiv", eleven founding members recently signed the statutes in the Groundlift Studio in the old brewery in Stegen.

District

- Chairwoman is Gesine Dorschner, graphic designer from Herrsching, who grew up in the district and is well connected.

She says: "This broad and agile industry has so much potential - we want to make that visible and accessible to everyone." It's also about other industries recognizing "what's slipping through their fingers".

Your fictitious example: Someone hires a sound engineer from Düsseldorf for a very specific event - although he could have found him on the doorstep.

External impact is one thing, internal communication is another.

The Corona crisis has shown that creative lone fighters and small businesses often have a hard time, emphasizes Dorschner.

The association facilitates mutual support, for example in accounting or digital solutions.

During pandemic weddings, she turned to colleagues from the industry, for example because of state corona aid.

In addition to Dorschner, the Pulsiv management team consists of Daniel Betz, owner of the Groundlift Studio, Claudia Spies, mediator and coach for the cultural sector from Gauting, the architect and typepresser Felix Flesche from Weßling and Daniela Tewes from the business development agency gwt.

The latter has played a large part in the fact that creative people and those involved in culture have come closer together in recent years.

She coordinated a multi-year gwt project, half funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, organized workshops, network meetings, creative activities and other free events.

"The many contacts are an excellent basis for the new association," says Tewes.

She compares "Pulsiv" in terms of structure with the business association for business development in the district of Starnberg (UWS).

Dorschner and Tewes can imagine events and workshops on topics that affect many, or joint creative temporary uses and projects.

Concrete tasks, goals and first steps of the association are to be worked out at a workshop on Tuesday, May 24th.

A networking event is expected to follow in July, to which not only creative people but also companies from other sectors and representatives from politics and administration are to be invited.

According to Tewes, an important partner is the Bavarian State Association of Cultural and Creative Industries (BLVKK), which was founded in April 2020.

Vice President Philipp Ernst attended the Pulsiv founding meeting.

"Many districts in the Free State are currently establishing their own associations, which is incredibly important as a basis for our work at state level.

The creative industry is a decisive factor for economic growth and location quality, we have to make that much more visible,” he says.

If you want to be registered as a Pulsiv member, you can contact Daniela Tewes, e-mail tewes@starnbergammersee.de.

Individual members are expected to pay around 100 euros per year, agencies with employees around 250 euros.

However, all the details have not yet been determined.

The website www.pulsiv-verband.de is scheduled to go online in the course of the year.
