Thousands of Eintracht Frankfurt fans take off from Frankfurt Airport for the Europa League final in Seville on Wednesday (May 18) – a real challenge.

Frankfurt – Eintracht Frankfurt received 10,000 tickets for the Europa League final on Wednesday (May 18).

However, it seems clear from the football-historical pictures from Barcelona at the latest that there should be far more black, white and red jerseys in the stands of the stadium in Seville.

At Frankfurt Airport, a large crowd of fans is now expected again.

Up to 35 special flights could take off from the domestic airport to the Spanish venue on Wednesday, as federal police spokesman Michael Moser announced on Monday (May 16) on request.

Last booking questions are still to be clarified.

Depending on the result, the emergency services expect 4,500 to 7,500 additional passengers that day.

Frankfurt Airport: Eintracht fans are concentrated in the morning

Around 5 a.m. on Wednesday morning, the first SGE fans should start from Frankfurt Airport to Seville.

At lunchtime, the majority of Eintracht travelers should be on their way to the final.

"We have a lot of passengers in a very short space of time - that's what makes it a challenge," explains federal police officer Moser.

Passengers rush through the halls of Frankfurt Airport.

The security authority does not want to reveal in advance how many emergency services it will have to activate.

The police patrols that will be on the move at Frankfurt Airport should be well-disposed towards the SGE supporters: "You wear the eagle on your chest, we on our uniform - together we carry it in our hearts," writes the Federal Police on Twitter.

Frankfurt Airport: Federal police advise Eintracht fans to arrive early

There, the officials also have some essential information for the Frankfurt fans so that they can “arrive in Seville on time and experience a furious finale there” on Wednesday (May 18):

  • Those who follow Eintracht should be at the airport at least three hours before departure.

  • After check-in, travelers should proceed to security immediately.

  • Hand luggage should be kept to a minimum. "Pyros and supplies of drinks etc. are taboo."

According to the federal police, as long as "everyone behaves in the terminal", the eagles can get in the mood for the highlight of the season with a beer or apple wine.

If you want to get on the Seville plane drunk as a shit, you risk that the airline will put a stop to it.

And don't forget: Masks are still compulsory on planes.

Eintracht Frankfurt: Via the airport to the European Cup triumph

The kick-off in Seville on Wednesday (May 18) is at 9 p.m.

Opponents in the Europa League final are Glasgow Rangers.

Eintracht Frankfurt could win a European cup again after 42 years - the euphoria in the environment is correspondingly huge.

There's a public viewing in Frankfurt's Heimstadion, for which tickets are circulating on the black market at exorbitant prices.

The fact that many fans also work at Frankfurt Airport was noticed most recently after the sensational triumph in Barcelona.

In honor of the winning team, the number of the return flight from Eintracht Frankfurt was specially changed.

Meanwhile, there will be no special train from Frankfurt to Seville.

Deutsche Bahn (DB) missed the target like target on Twitter.
