The Suwayda Agriculture Directorate called on farmers to start controlling the apple fruit worm planted with the crop in areas ranging in height from 1500 to 1600 meters.

The head of the Department of Prevention in the Directorate, Engineer Hatem Al-Barbour, stated in a statement to SANA reporter today that the appropriate date for the control in these areas begins tomorrow and for a period of three days, pointing out that the announcement of the control was based on the monitoring and development of insect eggs and readings of pheromone traps by agricultural technicians within the apple-growing sites.

Engineer Al-Barbour pointed out the importance of implementing the control operations for this main pest in a timely manner to avoid its damage and its negative impact on the economy of production and the quality of the product, indicating that the announcement of the control in these areas is added to a previous announcement of the control that included areas with a height of less than 1500 meters during the period between the ninth and thirteenth. of the current month.
