At this point I don't want to tell you about an event from my life as a reporter in Munich.

I would like to comment on an incident in Bavarian amateur football that has brought an entire league, the Oberbayern district league, almost unanimously against one club.

Rightly so!

To get straight to the point.

I think the behavior of BCF Wolfratshausen in the final sprint of the league is a sign of failure, beyond any thought of fair play.

But first things first: I was in Denklingen ten days ago and wanted to watch the game against MTV Berg with coach Wolfgang Krebs, whom I have known for over 30 years.

I found an almost absurd scenario: VfL coach Markus Ansorge was standing far away from the field behind a safety fence, a couple of Denklinger regulars were watching from somewhere “isolated” in the truest sense of the word, while the last squad fought against Berg.

Corona had struck in the run-up to the game, seven players and the coach had been hit.

You also have to know: It was the third to last match day of the season, it's about promotion to the national league.

With a win instead of the hard-fought 0-0, Denklingen would have been the front runner again.

According to the BFV statutes, it was not possible to move the game – there should have been eight instead of seven corona cases.

"We could have cheated, but we didn't want to," says Ansorge.

This is how fair play works!

League competitor Wolfratshausen, after all a former Bayern league team, behaved completely differently.

The BCF simply didn't play against third-placed Haidhausen.

Lack of players was the reason.

Result: Haidhausen was given the three points by the sports court - and is now in front of Denklingen.

All too understandable that VfL coach Ansorge was "at 180" for days.

One mustn't forget that Wolfratshausen has a second team that plays points, i.e. at least 30 players.

From the second, it was said, but no player was available.

I find that ridiculous.

I used to play football too - it would have been a huge honor for us to help out in the first team.

Conclusion: Wolfratshausen trampled on the idea of fair play with an action that also influenced the last two matchdays.

The ones who suffer are the "non-tricks" from Denklingen, who can lose their promotion if they don't appear in the BCF.

I'll say it again and I won't let that opinion dissuade me either: an indictment!

Denklingen definitely didn't deserve that.
