Freising's motorcyclists are back on the road with God's blessing

As a motorcyclist, you have your fate in your own hands to a certain extent – ​​but not entirely.

This is one of the reasons why many bikers came to Marzling for the blessing on Sunday.

The motorcyclists from Freising and the surrounding area are now "reinforced" on the road again.

A good reason for a regular motorcycle consecration - like on Sunday in Marzling.

More than 150 bikers made the pilgrimage to Marzling on Sunday to have their bikes consecrated by Deacon Klaus Klonowski as part of a solemn prayer.

For Marzling's mayor Martin Ernst, himself an enthusiastic quad driver, the church blessing is "simply part of it".

For two years, no motorcycle consecration could be set up in Marzling because of the corona pandemic.

The local club "Motorradfreunde Marzling" was all the more enthusiastic on Sunday for two reasons: glorious weather and over 150 bikers on site.

Of course, most of them came from the region, although some had traveled there specially.

One of them: Jürgen Schnatterer from Schwabmünchen (Augsburg district).

He found out about the consecration from a work colleague, so he simply made his way to the Freising district.

The consecration is already "something special"

His reasons: "You get tame, and you have the opportunity to reflect again at a prayer service." What is also important to Schnatterer: "I'll see that I'll get one consecration a year." Also for Romy from Marzling The consecration of her machine is very important to Elias and "always something special".

Mayor Martin Ernst looks at the blessing from above for his red quad in a similar way: “For me it is very important and is simply part of it.

It's great that the consecration can finally take place again this year."

The devotion before the consecration was also a very solemn one, during which the bikers became very quiet.

Because Klonowski found haunting words of his own: “The kingdom of God grows when you brake in time and avoid the bad.

Because how nice it is when someone is considerate.” According to Klonowski, one does not have to look for a heaven, because in his opinion “God is here and now and begins here and now”.

According to the deacon, religion is similar to working "on such a machine" - because faith also requires experience and even more enthusiasm.

As a sign of remembrance, after the inauguration of the individual motorcycles, all participants were given red ribbons that could be attached to the machines.

A Hercules moped was the eye-catcher

The cashier of the motorcycle friends, Klaus Treu, who recently died far too young, was also firmly included in prayer on Sunday.

To give his family a helping hand, the club will donate the proceeds from the bake sale following the blessing.

Because that is also very important to the motorcycle friends Marzling, who have been around since 1998: to be there for each other.

The biker meeting slowly came to an end with delicacies from the grill and talk shop.

An eye-catcher next to the polished Harleys and massive BMWs was above all a very special "machine", in front of which some bikers stopped and were perhaps reminded of their own youth: a Hercules moped - top speed 25 kilometers per hour.
