After the success in the state elections, the North Rhine-Westphalian Greens are ready for talks to form a government.

Both the CDU and the SPD have signaled an interest in such talks, Greens top candidate Mona Neubaur said on Monday evening in Düsseldorf.

Dusseldorf - "We'll start the talks when the invitations reach us," she said.

The board of directors passed this unanimously.

"We are not in the role of inviting people to talks," emphasized Neubaur.

"We don't formulate red lines."

She did not want to commit to a black-green coalition.

There are also other conceivable constellations.

It's about a state government "that acts up to date".

To do this, a step towards climate neutrality must be implemented.

After the election, she spoke to Hendrik Wüst (CDU), Thomas Kuschaty (SPD) and Joachim Stamp (FDP) on Sunday.

"We are in a good, collegial exchange." The Greens were able to increase their result to 18.2 percent (2017: 6.4) and thus achieve "the best result ever for the North Rhine-Westphalian Greens in a state election".

"We have achieved the election goal that no government can be formed without us," said Neubaur, who had returned from Berlin, on Monday evening.
