A mother of three children lives on Hartz IV - and is surprised at recipients who cannot get by with the standard rate.

Munich – The current Hartz IV rule set has been heavily criticized, especially in recent weeks.

At the beginning of the year, this was increased by three euros to 449 euros per month.

Given the current inflation rate of 7.4 percent (as of April 2022), many consider the small increase to be absolutely insufficient.

But a mother of three who lives on Hartz IV herself cannot understand these complaints at all.

Focus how she was coping with the enormous price increases in all areas of life.

"We're already noticing the price increase, but in such a way that at the end of the month we only have 20 or 30 euros left instead of maybe 60 euros.

So there can be no talk of not getting enough,” she makes clear.

She says she gets embarrassed when she hears people whining about the rulesets.

“Honestly, when the unemployed or those on social security are whining particularly loudly these days, it almost seems to me as if one or the other was just waiting for the next excuse.

According to the motto: By now at the latest, the last one really has to understand that you can't get enough with so little money," says the mother angrily.

Hartz IV: A family of five lives on 1,500 euros a month

The family of five has 1,500 euros a month at their disposal.

She receives about 450 euros from the office.

In addition, there is a pension of 332 euros from her husband, who had an accident a few years ago.

In addition, 663 euros child benefit and 200 euros from her husband's 450-euro job.

Only 200 euros because the office deducts 250 euros from earnings.

For them it is incomprehensible that some Hartz IV recipients do not want to earn anything extra when the state then collects a large part of it.

For the mother of three, one thing is clear: if you only live on toast and pasta at the end of the month, it's your own fault: "The truth is that these people simply can't handle money.

They don't plan." According to her own statements, she only buys 80 to 90 percent of the goods on offer.

"There's no other way," she says.
