The Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Muhammad Bagheri, discussed with Tajik Defense Minister Lieutenant-General Sher Ali Mirza ways to expand cooperation in the field of combating terrorism, securing borders, holding joint exercises and developing the two countries' military apparatus.
The Iranian news agency "IRNA" stated that Bagheri stressed, during the talks he held in Dushanbe, the necessity of placing regional and bilateral cooperation and the exchange of military expertise in the framework of combating terrorism on the top of the priorities of the armed forces of both countries.
For his part, the Minister of Defense of Tajikistan stressed the importance of the projects implemented by the Iranian armed forces in the context of combating terrorism and systematic crimes and drugs, noting that the establishment of joint military exercises between Tehran and Dushanbe comes among the priorities of the Tajik and Iranian armed forces.
