The Polytechnic University will hold an online JUPAS consultation day this Saturday (21st) to let students who participate in JUPAS learn about the admission system and course changes.


PolyU stated that from the next academic year, except for individual specialised courses, all courses will be converted into departmental scheme-based admissions, and students will only decide their major subjects when they advance to the second year.

PolyU will continue to flexibly handle the minimum grades for JUPAS admissions applications in the new academic year. If one of the subjects is one level lower than the minimum requirements, it will still be considered as appropriate, but the premise is that the best five subjects must score 26 points, and will be considered. The university degree programme is listed as a Band A option in the JUPAS admissions application and successfully passed the admissions interview.

Online JUPAS Course Consultation Day will be held this Saturday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm to let applicants know the latest course information so that they can make changes before the deadline for updating course selection on June 1; Course selection to be finalized before the July 23 final course re-selection deadline.

The first year of study is the second year of the common core courses of the department before deciding to major

PolyU stated that starting from the next academic year, all PolyU programmes, except individual specialised programmes, will be converted into departmental combination programmes.

Under the new arrangement, students will first choose a combination of courses in a department when they apply for admission to PolyU. After being admitted, they only need to take the common core courses of the relevant departments in the first year, and the major subjects will not be decided until the second year. Students have ample time to understand their interests and aspirations, and make appropriate choices in their majors.

Join Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics and Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Two new elements, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics (AIDA) and Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IE), will be added to PolyU's undergraduate programmes from the next academic year as part of the University's core curriculum; interested students can also choose AIDA or IE as a sub-major or minor.

PolyU also has a variety of admission programs. In addition to providing sports talents with opportunities for further studies through the "Student Athlete Learning Support and Admission Program" and the "Outstanding Athlete Recommendation Program", PolyU will also launch the "Professional Admissions Program" starting from the next academic year. ", to provide opportunities for admission to PolyU for some students who excel in sports, arts and culture, STEM subjects, etc., but cannot fully reflect their talents through the results of the HKDSE.

All students applying for PolyU undergraduate programmes can submit their non-academic achievements and be considered when applying. Fresh HKDSE candidates are also encouraged to change the PolyU programme to a higher priority option when re-selection.

PolyU will conduct judging through the selection committee and announce the results in June.

If DSE fails, there is still a chance to enroll

PolyU will continue to flexibly process the minimum grades for JUPAS admission applications for the 2022/23 academic year.

If students applying for degree programmes do not fully meet the minimum entry requirements of "3-3-2-2-3-3" (Chinese, English, Mathematics, Liberal Studies and two elective subjects in sequence), if one of the scores Only one lower level, PolyU will still consider it at its discretion, but they must score 26 points in the best five subjects, list the PolyU degree program as Band A option in the JUPAS admission application, and successfully pass the admission interview.

PolyU will continue to hold an online course consultation day this year to hold an online seminar on "Admission Strategy and Interview Skills" to share the latest admission information and course selection strategies, as well as admission interview skills and experience.

Each college will also arrange online course lectures and consultation sessions, so that students can better understand the admission requirements, course content and study life of their favorite subjects.
