The appearance of the Lebenshilfe band Sweet Lotte made the window panes tremble in the Furtner.

The formation said goodbye to the Freisingers with a lavish party.

Freising

– It was a lavish celebration, an absolutely wonderful concert – and yet there was a little melancholy in the air when the ensemble “Sweet Lotte” performed in Freising.

The band broke up after ten years.

On Friday they gave their penultimate performance in the packed Furtner Hall and once again ripped all the guests off their chairs with the finest crossover sound.

Very special Rock'n'Roll

It couldn't have been nicer or more appropriate: The rainy day turned into a summer evening, the sky opened up, and the cult formation Sweet Lotte let it rip with the song "I'm da".

On Stage: Michi, Heribert, Irene, Gerhardt, Klaus and of course Lotte.

All of them people with disabilities who wanted to do it again in the best of moods and who made the listeners' heartbeats accelerate with their very special rock'n'roll.

As the helmsman and, so to speak, bandleader, the music project manager of the Lebenshilfe Freising, Andreas Hörhammer, once again managed to bring a thoroughly fascinating concert to the stage - a concert that, despite the melancholy, was a great musical hit.

The ensemble's songs flickered and shimmered like fireflies through the night, because each piece sparked off a crossover marvel with free jazz elements.

In other words: Jazz mastermind Moondog would have had his truest joy that evening.

Songs like "Chaos", which made the Furtner window panes tremble in the finale, or "Raben", a beautiful song longing for freedom, deserve special mention.

Illustrious guests support the formation

Sweet Lotte was supported in her farewell by illustrious guests: the jazz voice of Freising, Julia Schröter, the singer/songwriter-poet Axel Le Rouge and the art all-rounder Pepito Anumu.

Le Rouge's ballad "In Another Time", which seemed to have been written for it due to the band's dissolution, was particularly heartrending and thus above all kept up the hope with that line: "Maybe we'll see each other again tomorrow!" While Anumu with a With an impressive percussion interlude, Schröter added new colors to the nuances with her wonderful voice.

Also extremely charming: the respective songs were pantomimed by Le Rouge and the filmmaker Silvia Johanus.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Exceptional on this evening: In the second part of the concert, a painting by Anumu, which he had painted together with a resident of the Lebenshilfe facility, was auctioned for 160 euros for the benefit of the people in Ukraine.

The concert became a colorful spectacle full of warmth and soul, which ended after several encores with an old number by "Meister Aubeck", which once again got the best out of the ensemble.

After a good two hours, the penultimate curtain fell for the sweet Lotte im Furtner.

What was left: people hugging in front of the stage and the certainty on the way home that sweet Lotte has played her way into the hearts of the people of Freising forever.
