The corona numbers are becoming less and less meaningful.
Many federal states do not report any data, especially at the weekend.
The RKI reports 2,305 new infections on Monday.
Berlin – In the past few months, significantly fewer corona cases have been recorded in Germany than before.
There are various reasons for this.
On the one hand, people are less regularly tested for the Sars-CoV-2 virus, and on the other hand, fewer people are infected.
In the meantime, many federal states no longer collect corona data at the weekend.
The current RKI numbers on Monday morning are hardly meaningful anymore.
In addition, interest in the corona values and the infection process is decreasing.
Corona in Germany: RKI reports incidence of 439.2 (as of May 16, 2022)
Even if the numbers are incomplete, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported a nationwide incidence of 439.2 on Monday (May 16).
According to this, 2,305 new corona infections and no deaths were reported within 24 hours.
According to the RKI, daily fluctuations should “not be overestimated, especially at the weekend and at the beginning of the week.” A weekly comparison is “more effective” for assessing the infection rate in Germany.
On its website, the RKI refers to its detailed weekly report, which will be published on Thursday.

Masks are still compulsory on flights to and from Germany
Further corona measures have been taken in the EU.
As of this Monday (May 16), wearing a mask is no longer mandatory on planes and in airports.
For the time being, however, Germany wants to retain the mask requirement on flights to and from Germany.
