Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov strongly criticized the actions and practices of the US intelligence security services towards Russian diplomatic missions, describing them as rude and unacceptable.
Peskov said in a press statement today, "The Kremlin shares the head of our diplomatic mission in the United States its concerns about the behavior of the American security services towards the employees of our diplomatic missions, and considers their behavior extremely rude and unacceptable."
Earlier, the Russian ambassador in Washington, Anatoly Antonov, announced that the employees of the Russian embassy in the United States were receiving threats, stressing that the American intelligence services were trying to push Russian diplomats to betray their country.
In another context, Peskov renewed Moscow's warnings against Finland and Sweden joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), stressing that this "will not enhance security on the European continent."
Peskov added that "Ukraine's possible accession to NATO would have led to a possible territorial conflict between Russia and a country that is part of the alliance," stressing that "Moscow does not have border disputes with Finland or Sweden, while Ukraine would have become a member of NATO and Russia could have had." A border dispute with a country participating in this alliance.”
