Many Israelis try to make an appointment with the Ministry of the Interior to issue a new passport or renew their expired passport.

Almost everyone who tries to make an appointment at the Ministry of the Interior, has difficulty finding an appointment for the coming months and even after they manage to make an appointment, there are quite a few who wait almost two months until they receive the passport.

The Population and Immigration Authority has found an interesting solution that can help many of the passport applicants.

In the next two weeks, a dedicated bureau will be established with the aim of issuing temporary passports that will be valid for two years, at a cost of only NIS 430.

The passports will probably be issued on the spot, similar to those issued at Ben Gurion Airport.

Those who will be entitled to issue a passport at the same designated bureau to be established in Bnei Brak, near the Ayalon Mall, are those who are scheduled to fly in the next six weeks.

The said price will be about half of what you pay at Ben Gurion Airport (about NIS 820), but at the moment it is not clear whether it will be necessary to book an appointment in advance for the new bureau or to arrive without the need for coordination.

In the Population Authority, employees from all the bureaus were recruited, as well as those who will undergo special training to provide service in the new bureau, in order to try to find a solution for those who are due to fly soon and their passports have expired.

It will be possible to issue the temporary passport at the new bureau in Bnei Brak-Ramat Gan even if you have recently been issued a temporary passport, which was not possible until recently.
