People's Assembly Speaker Hammouda Sabbagh affirmed the depth of the historical relations between Syria and Mauritania, indicating that Syria is continuing to strengthen relations with countries and peoples that have stood by it.
During his meeting today, MP Mustafa Dah Sohaib, head of the Mauritanian-Syrian Parliamentary Fraternity Committee, and his accompanying delegation, Sabbagh expressed his appreciation and pride in the Syrian-Mauritanian relations and the honorable stances of the Mauritanian people and their leadership towards Syria and what it was exposed to during the terrorist war waged against it.
For his part, MP Dah Sohaib expressed his thanks and appreciation for the hospitality he found in Syria, stressing his country's determination to continue developing relations with Syria in various fields, pointing to the Mauritanian people's keenness to stand by and support Arabism of Syria.
In turn, the delegation members pointed out that they will convey to the Mauritanian people the reality of the current situation in Syria, especially the negative effects of the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on it.
The meeting was attended by the Vice-President of the Council, a number of Council members, and the Chairman and members of the Syrian-Mauritanian Brotherhood Committee in the Council.
