The families of the victims of the Meron disaster threatened to boycott the memorial service with revelry: "Not enough Torah"
Walla!
It was learned that some of the families killed in the disaster announced that they would not participate in the ceremony initiated by Projector Meron funded by the Ministry of Religions, as its content is "artistic" and includes performances and speeches only.
Following the threat, the organizers accepted the families' demand and prayers and Torah recitations from leading rabbis were added to the ceremony.

Some of the families
of those killed in the Meron disaster threatened to boycott the memorial service to be held at the end of the celebration on Thursday Lag B'Omer in Meron - Walla learned today (Monday), claiming that the content of the ceremony is purely artistic, and that there are not enough Torah symbols.
The disaster, which claimed the lives of 45 people, has in recent days received an invitation to an event, initiated by project manager Miron Zviki Tessler and the families, co-financed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The families demanded that a "Torah aspect" be added to the event, during which rabbis will also give speeches, in addition to the families' representatives.

After some announced that they would not attend the event in the original format, it was decided to accept their request, and now apart from singing performances with speeches by family representatives, leading ceremonies will be held and leading rabbis from the ultra-Orthodox sector will recite Torah.
According to the source, 38 families have so far confirmed their attendance at a ceremony to be held at the event that claimed the lives of their loved ones, and the rest of the families are forced to be absent due to a stay abroad or due to participation in other events.
