Thousands of people suffocated, and Basra Airport and a number of public administrations were closed today due to a dust storm that hit Iraq today.
And the Basra Airport Administration said in a statement today: The airport operations decided to stop the departing and arriving flights until further notice due to the lack of visibility.
In the past 24 hours, about 4,000 people suffered from suffocation due to the dust storm.
The spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Health, Saif Al-Badr, stated that all cases of suffocation received the necessary health care.
It also closed all schools in the country and postponed its exams until next Tuesday, in addition to postponing university exams that were scheduled for today.
