Peyton Genderon, 18, who carried out the mass shooting on Saturday at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, was brought to a hospital by New York police in June 2021 for a psychiatric evaluation, after expressing a desire to carry out mass shooting, law enforcement officials said yesterday (Sunday).

In the spring of last year, at the end of the academic year at Suskhana Valley High School, students were asked about their postgraduate programs.

Genderon, according to the New York Times, said he wanted to commit suicide-suicide, according to a senior local law enforcement official.

Jandron, who was then in the twelfth grade, then told Lar that he was joking, but police were called in to investigate and took Jendron, then 17, on June 8 to custody under the Mental Health Act.

He underwent a psychiatric evaluation at a hospital but was released Within two days, sources said. Two weeks later, Jandron had finished high school, and his interrogation had dissipated.

According to Buffalo Police Chief Joseph Gramalia, Genderon was motivated by racist theories he discovered online during the plague.

In a document he wrote and circulated online, he describes himself as a fascist, believing in white supremacy, racism and anti-Semitism.

Irish County District Attorney John Flynn has said he will seek life imprisonment without parole.

Gendron was charged Saturday with first-degree murder, and awaits his fate in prison.

Investigators are now examining how he went from a quiet student to a killer without attracting attention.

New York State is known as the State of the Red Flags Act - In the United States, the Red Flags Act is a gun control law that allows police or family members to petition a court to order the temporary removal of a firearm from a person who may pose a danger to others or himself.

However, no one has tried to do so with Genderon.

According to New York Police Department, the reason is that he did not deliver a specific target in his threat.

Former students in Gendron's class told the New York Times that he was behaving more and more strangely.

Two former students said he arrived at the classroom with protective equipment from hazardous materials after the Corona restrictions were lifted in 2020.

This was one of the few times the students saw him in class.

According to them, Genderon preferred to study remotely even though his classmates returned to classrooms.
