Måneskin: Italian rock band wins Eurovision Song Contest in 2021

With their appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021, the four band members (Damiano David, Victoria De Angelis, Thomas Raggi and Ethan Torchio) became international stars overnight.

They were already a successful and well-known band in their home country of Italy - but after their ESC performance, their winning song "Zitti e buoni" was streamed millions of times.

But the band also made headlines that night: an alleged drug scandal involving lead singer Damiano David.

Some viewers have allegedly observed the 23-year-old using cocaine.

The singer, like the band, didn't let this sit any longer - so he did a voluntary drug test.

The result: negative.

The band has been preparing for several days, just like the ESC finalists (these candidates will compete in the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest) for the performance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin.

Shortly before rehearsals, the 23-year-old lead singer injured his ankle and had to walk with crutches, as he showed in his Instagram story.

The reason for his injury: The lead singer injured his ankle while shooting the music video for the new single "Supermodel".

But for one singer, her ESC favorite choice was fatal: Felicia Lu.

She was supposed to be part of the German ESC jury, but was excluded again the same evening.

The reason for this was early reviews of the studio versions of the ESC contributions.
