MK Ofir Katz (Likud) today (Tuesday) attacked Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked in the Knesset plenum for withdrawing from the law to deny citizenship to terrorists.
"A week ago, it was reported in 'Israel Today' that the bereaved families are protesting that the law on the denial of citizenship is not being promoted. The response to Ayelet Shaked's article: 'The law will go to the polls in a week.' She said that last week!"
He added: "Today we are seeing a new headline 'Shaked withdrew from the law revoking the citizenship of terrorists'. Do you understand how much Mansour Abbas and the joint list control this government? Shaked pledged to the citizens of Israel, to the bereaved families.

"And now she comes up with some legal argument 'This law cannot be promoted, the lawyers do not allow me'. What a shame and what a disgrace. Instead of embracing and supporting the bereaved families, she has new Muslim Brotherhood families. I will raise my private bill to the plenum next week ".
It will be recalled that the Minister of the Interior, Ayelet Shaked, withdrew her intention to pass the law denying citizenship to terrorists.
Shaked withdrew, after a conversation between her people and the Ministry of Justice revealed that he would not stand the test of the High Court.
Under the original bill, an Israeli citizen convicted of a terrorist act and found to be receiving terrorist benefits from the Palestinian Authority will lose his Israeli citizenship.
Instead, he will be referred for a Palestinian passport because in his actions he testified that he is loyal to it and not to the State of Israel.
