Tokyo-Sana
An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale hit 229 km southeast of the Japanese city of Katsura today.
According to the US Geological Survey, the quake struck at a depth of ten kilometers, and its epicenter was initially determined at 33.4051 degrees north latitude and 141.6684 degrees east longitude.
An earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale struck last March off the Fukushima region in eastern Japan, but no casualties were reported.
