Against the background of the deadlock between the powers and the nuclear agreement: IDF increases its preparations for attack on Iran | Israel Today

The military exercise simulates a comprehensive war on all fronts • Estimates in Israel that the Islamic Republic can break into the nucleus within a few weeks • Production of targets in the IDF has increased by 400%, the current challenge is hitting targets in real time

Against the background of the deadlock between Iran and the superpowers, the IDF is stepping up its preparations for an attack on Iran:

As part of the war month that is currently taking place, and simulates a comprehensive war on all fronts, the IDF is also expected to conduct an extensive Israeli air force attack.

The special flight is expected to take place during the fourth week of the exercise, which will take place from May 29 to June 2.

The IDF currently has several plans for an attack on Iran, but senior officials estimate that the military needs at least a year to complete the preparations for the most basic plan, and a longer time to complete the preparations for the best plan.

According to information in Israel's possession, the Iranian nuclear project is continuing, albeit at a relatively moderate pace.

Estimates in Israel are that Iran could break into nuclear within a few weeks, when it already has low-enriched material for about two nuclear bombs, and another 60% enriched material for one bomb, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz confirmed today in a speech at Reichman University.

Ganz confirms for the first time: "Iran has sent drones to Israel - intercepted in Iraq"

In the current international reality, Israel is the only country in the world that works to prevent Iran from becoming nuclear.

As for the negotiations between Iran and the US-led powers, the IDF estimates that the parties have reached a real deadlock, based on principles that are difficult for either side to withdraw from.

At the same time, the messages that Israel receives from the United States are a desire to exhaust the negotiations at this stage.

The IDF expects more sanctions to be exacerbated by Iran, or at least the enforcement of existing sanctions, more American offensive operations, and the creation of an authentic American military option, which of course will also give validity to the military option that Israel is preparing in all seriousness.

"Legitimacy files" and a large number of soldiers: the IDF simulates fighting on all fronts

Preparations for the IDF exercise began about a year and a half ago, when the "Chariots of Fire" exercise was scheduled to take place in May 2021. However, shortly after the exercise began, Operation Wall Guard broke out, and the army decided to cancel it. The latter considered in the army whether to carry out the exercise, but nevertheless decided to carry it out while making the necessary adjustments to the tense operational situation.

The exercise, which began last week and will last about a full month, simulates war on all arenas and fronts.

According to the imaginary but unfounded scenario, several Hezbollah members are killed during an Israeli "attack" in Syria.

As a result, Hezbollah responds, and Israel enters several days of fighting in the north, which eventually degenerates into war, which is of course joined by Gaza, as well as the Palestinian arena in Judea and Samaria.

This is compounded by the threat of internal security, which, as I recall, is even more pronounced in "The Guardian of the Walls," and of course Iran and its emissaries are not absent from the scenario.

The exercise includes two division exercises of the 162nd Division and the 98th Division that simulate a deep ground entry into Lebanon.

Forces of the elite paratroopers will be carried out in Cyprus in the last week of the exercise in Cyprus, to train the forces for action in unfamiliar territory simulating Lebanon.

Tens of thousands of reservists will be recruited in the exercise, and the political echelon will be played by reserve officers, while the prime minister will be played by Maj. Gen. (Res.) Yaakov Amidror.

The Political and Security Cabinet visited the exercise this week, and another visit is expected later, in which they will be given a dilemma that they will have to overcome.

Most of the exercise will take place in the north, including in the Wadi Ara area and Umm al-Fahm.

At the moment, the army does not intend to change the outline of the exercise despite opposition from the heads of the Arab authorities.

During the exercise, the arena of internal security will receive special attention in light of the lessons of the "guardian of the walls", and disturbances will be practiced twice as severe as those that occurred a year ago.

For this purpose, the IDF will practice units set up to deal with the problem and to open traffic routes so that the movement of forces within the country will not be harmed. Effort to reach the front.

The exercise simulates the launch of many thousands of missiles and rockets at Israel.

The IDF's challenge is to hit the missing enemy, who shoots and then hides. Infrastructure targets such as the electricity grid, which will be the target of an attack in the event of a confrontation with Hezbollah.

In the Gaza Strip, too, the IDF now has more targets than it did a year ago, on the eve of the "Guardian of the Walls."

Legitimacy portfolios as lessons learned.

As a lesson from "Guardian of the Walls", "legitimacy files" were prepared in the IDF for sensitive purposes, so as not to repeat the incident of the Al-Jalaa Tower that was bombed during the "Guardian of the Walls" together with AP and Al-Jazeera communications ministries. In Israel's international legitimacy.

At the same time as the exercise, the IDF continues its heightened alert in Operation Breakwater in the face of the wave of terror that has swept Israel in the past two months.

The IDF continues to adhere to the version that Hamas and Sinwar are not behind the attacks, and believes that the wave is not directed by the terrorist organizations.
