An attempted attack took place this morning (Tuesday) near Samaria Square.
A terrorist approached the junction near the base of the spatial brigade and tried to stab soldiers who were at the scene, who responded quickly and shot him.
The casualty was neutralized, seeking medical attention, and there were no casualties among the fighters.
Clashes broke out between police and Palestinians last night at the funeral of Walid Al-Sharif, a Palestinian who died after being injured in riots on the Temple Mount about a week ago.

The police said that in the evening, several centers of violent riots broke out in East Jerusalem and the Old City.
Hundreds of protesters were also said to be throwing stones, poles and objects, firing fireworks and trying to hit police forces on the spot.
Six policemen were lightly injured following the stone-throwing, and the forces responded by dispersing the rioters and repelling the rioters to disperse them.
"The Israel Police coordinated the course of the funeral with the family members, but unfortunately hundreds of lawbreakers and rioters are using the funeral to disrupt order and violence," it was reported.
