After a two-year Corona break, the Munich Midsummer Night's Dream is celebrating its comeback.

Visitors have to dig deep into their pockets for VIP tickets.

Munich – The fuse was long this time… The people of Munich had to be patient for two years – hoping for the big hit in the Olympic Park.

The midsummer night's dream was canceled twice in a row because of Corona.

This year there's finally a comeback of open-air fun with fireworks and live music.

The event takes place on Saturday, July 16, and the Olympic Park has now announced the first details.

Music stars at the Munich Midsummer Night's Dream 2022

Above all, we now know which music acts are supposed to set the tone: Silbermond and Culcha Candela will create a great atmosphere with their open-air performances on the main stage at Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz (in front of the Olympic Stadium).

There will also be music on the peninsula stage by the lake - the exact program will be announced there.

All around, the park will present itself in a colorful and diverse way - with art and culinary delights under the motto Sign of Life.

The highlight of the evening is traditionally the big fireworks at the lake: a long light spectacle, choreographed to music.

According to the Olympic Park, it is already the largest fireworks display in Germany, but this year the organizers are adding a shovel of gunpowder to it.

You don't want to splash out - after all, the park, which was created for the 1972 Summer Games, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Munich Midsummer Night's Dream celebrates a comeback: VIP tickets cost 245 euros

The Midsummer Night's Dream has also become a classic.

The people of Munich flock to the park in droves – hopefully when the sun is shining – in the afternoon, stroll around the lake, and there is certainly time for a selfie using the hashtag #atraum...

The later the evening, the more the tension increases.

This year, for example, to the performance of Culcha Candela.

The German band has been known for their very own mix of reggae, latin and hip-hop for almost 20 years.

For their performance in Munich, they certainly have hits like "Hamma" but also socially critical ones in their luggage.

Silbermond then stand for a rocking sound and catchy melodies in equal measure - just think of "Symphonie" and "Das Beste".

Normal tickets for the Midsummer Night's Dream cost between 32 and 46 euros, VIP tickets are available for 245 euros.

In August, the Olympic Park becomes the venue for the European Championships.
