After the meeting with the Greens, the CDU in Schleswig-Holstein led by Prime Minister Daniel Günther also had an initial exploratory talk with the FDP.
"We also have a preference, the preference is black and yellow," said FDP top candidate Bernd Buchholz on Tuesday.
State chairman Heiner Garg made a similar statement.
"We are curious to see what the Prime Minister will present to us," said Garg.
Kiel - The FDP is open to other options.
In view of the challenges, the goal must be a stable, viable government for the next five years.
"The Prime Minister obviously wants to establish a Jamaica coalition," said Buchholz.
"If the Prime Minister can do that, then we'll say: We're in." When asked about possibly being the fifth wheel in a three-way alliance without necessity, he said: "The starting point is the same for the Greens as it is for us: it's enough in each case alone with the other.
It's a different situation than not being needed.”

Previously, top teams from the Union and the Greens had explored the possibility of forming a government for a good five hours.
The further development towards the formation of a new state government is still open.
Günther (CDU) renewed his desire to continue the three-party coalition with the Greens and the FDP, although the CDU would already have a majority in the state parliament with one of the two parties.
The Prime Minister committed to more ambitious climate targets.
The co-lead candidate of the Greens for the state elections, Aminata Touré, reiterated her party's preference for a two-party alliance with the CDU, but was open to talks beyond that.
