Laura Pausini actually moderated the "Eurovision Song Contest" 2022 in Turin together with Alessandro Cattelan and Mika.
However, the two men were often only two on the live show stage in Italy.
The reason for the singer's absence should now be clear.

During the live show, which was broadcast on ARD in Germany, some viewers were surprised on Twitter: "Where is Laura Pausini?" Again and again, the Italian singer did not shine thanks to glittering outfits, but through her absence.

When the telephone voting for the "Eurovision Song Contest" 2022 was coming to an end, Alessandro Cattelan and Mika had to do without the ESC presenter.
During the live show, the absence of the Italian singer was not commented on.
Why was Laura Pausini temporarily absent from television?
On Twitter, some users expressed their astonishment: "Where is Laura Pausini" or "Oh, there she is again".
It was also suspected that Laura Pausini had "problems in the toilet" and was therefore always absent from the moderation of the ESC.

The German ESC commentator Peter Urban commented on Laura Pausini one day after the “Eurovision Song Contest” on the “ZDF-Fernsehgarten”:
“I think she had a kind of fainting spell.
She was also absent from rehearsals for a long time.
It was also a very tiring week for her. ”
He assumes that the presenter's cycle repeatedly gave out during the live show.
After attention was drawn to Laura Pausini's absence from the ESC, the singer assured on Instagram: "I'm fine.
During this final I had a drop in blood pressure and for this reason I had to take a break for about twenty minutes on the advice of the doctors who helped me and to whom I am very grateful.” The German ESC candidate Malik Harris should also – after he digested his placement has – go well again.
Although ESC fans had seen him more in midfield, he only made it to last place.
