Fuel prices are also high due to the Ukraine war, but in a comparison of other countries, Bavaria still pays the least for petrol.

Munich – Bavaria currently has the cheapest petrol of all federal states.

At 2.046 euros per liter of Super E10, the gas stations in the Free State on Tuesday (May 17) at 11 a.m. were 9.4 cents cheaper than in the most expensive state of Saxony-Anhalt.

This was announced by the ADAC.

At EUR 2.010, Bavaria is in third place among the cheapest countries for diesel - behind Saarland at EUR 1.996 and Rhineland-Palatinate at EUR 2.004.

The most expensive state was Schleswig-Holstein, which cost 8.1 cents more per liter than Bavaria.

Fuel prices still high: Bavarian drivers have been saving on petrol since the start of the Ukraine war

It's also a fact: according to statistics, Bavarian drivers fueled less in March after the start of the Ukraine war.

Sales at petrol stations increased by more than a fifth (22.4 percent) compared to March 2021, as the State Statistics Office announced on Tuesday.

But that was only due to the sharp rise in petrol prices.

Adjusted sales at petrol stations fell by 10.4 percent.

After the Russian attack on Ukraine, petrol and diesel prices skyrocketed to more than two euros per liter.

Adjusted for inflation, according to the state office, sales at petrol stations were also significantly lower than in March 2020 and March 2019.
