How are the new words of the Petit Larousse born?

"Wokisme", "poké"... The 2023 edition of the dictionary welcomes 150 new words. "Chik reads", "halloumi"...

"Wokism" (which is also found in the Robert) is defined as follows:

"Woke-inspired ideology, centered on questions of equality, justice and the defense of minorities, sometimes perceived as attacking universalism republican."

Lighter, we discover chik lit:

"(English words, literature for pullets) Urban Romance".

New gastronomic trends overflow from the pages of Larousse.

Entered “DLC” (use by date), “ultraprocessed”, “chawarma” or “shawarma”, “poke” or “poké”, “halloumi” (AOC cheese made in Cyprus).
