On Saturday afternoon, forces from the BRK rescue station in Oberschleißheim were called to a refugee shelter for an unusual operation: emergency birth with complications.
Oberschleißheim
- When the BRK arrived with three forces, the birth process had already started and there were complications.
Nevertheless, the emergency services were able to deliver the child on site.
"Mother and baby are doing well," reports the BRK.

The birth process had come to a standstill for an unknown reason, the child's head was already visible, but there were no longer sufficient contractions.
A quick transport to a clinic was therefore impossible.
The pediatric emergency doctor was immediately requested for the newborn and the regular emergency doctor for the pregnant woman.
Oberschleißheim: rescue workers deliver the child before the emergency doctor arrives
The rescue workers prepared the necessary utensils for the emergency birth.
The patient was placed in a specialist position and properly supported during the birth process.
Thus, the birth could be stimulated again.
Paramedics released the child before paramedics arrived.
The newborn girl was brought to a hospital with obstetrics with the newborn emergency doctor in the intensive care incubator of the Munich professional fire brigade, and the mother was taken to a hospital with obstetrics by the Oberschleißheim ambulance team.
Mother and child are well.
"We wish the little girl and her new parents all the best," said the rescue workers involved after the operation.
Rescue workers benefit from good training in emergency births
During this rare emergency event, the rescue workers benefited from the internal and external training that the Munich Red Cross regularly offers for rescue service personnel.
Thanks to training knowledge and practical exercises, the emergency services are well prepared for such challenging operations.
