To benefit from it, customers must have a virtual card on the "

Lidl Plus

" application.

"

Concretely, on May 19 if you fill up with 100 euros, and you use the coupon, you will pay 95 euros

," said Michel Biero, executive director of purchasing and marketing at Lidl France, to Le Parisien.

The voucher will be available on the application on May 19, then each first day of the following months.

Inflation still rising

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, large retailers have multiplied their actions in favor of the purchasing power of the French.

E.Leclerc has set up an "

anti-inflation shield

" on a range of 120 products, any price increase of which must be compensated with vouchers.

Casino, for its part, sets up weekends during which fuel is promised at 0.85 euro per liter (the consumer pays the “

real

” price at the pump, then the difference is reimbursed to him in vouchers).

All of these devices aim to build customer loyalty in a period of weakening purchasing power, which is pushing the French to re-examine their spending.

According to Jacques Creyssel, General Delegate of the Federation of Commerce and Distribution, inflation should indeed continue to rise in the months to come.

On the set of BFM Business, he warned: “

we are going towards increases that we have not seen for almost 40 years.

Our current forecast is between 7 and 10%, quite quickly

”.
